The Andaman Center
For Migrant Education
Migrant workers in Thailand arrive with the hope of finding decent wages and a better lifestyle. Their children often live as second-class citizens, without money or the legal right to education.
Poorly educated and victims of discrimination, they are often exploited and live in constant fear of arrest and deportation. The unfortunate result is that many migrant children work as children in low-skilled, low-paid jobs, or worse.
Our resort supports the Andaman Center initiative and invites you to help them provide an alternative to these hardworking people, as well as their children. The Migrant Center Education Program provides a learning center equipped to provide full-time schooling for 75 Burmese migrant children living in Kuraburi District, Phang Nga Province, southern Thailand.
Students take lessons from full-time teachers and guest volunteers, giving them hope for a better future. With your help, the Center aims to change parents’ perspectives by proving that education makes the difference for a better future.
The Myanmar school project
By engaging the kids in interactive English lessons, you help to build their confidence and develop skills for future jobs. The Center appreciates the helping hands of volunteers to keep the children engaged and active.
Your contribution is essential as these children are trying their very best under challenging circumstances and benefit greatly from being given the opportunity of education and equality.
